DESCRIPTION:
E. Howard & Co., Boston, "No. 70, PROGRAM CONTACT CLOCK", based on the #70 regulator and with and iron back behind the circular, laminated head, the dial insulated from the iron back on 4 wooden blocks, and with 2 bronze rings with holes at 5 minute intervals, the rings wired to an electrical stud in top of clock and the iron back/movement wired to the other stud. Walnut case. C.1910
CONDITION:
the only things missing are the metal pins to insert through the holes in the dial that will make contact with the passing hands. Although they came with a dozen pins, none are left with this and you will need to make at least 2 to demonstrate the clock's bell ring feature. To quote from the Howard catalog; "The dial is made in such a manner that pins can be inserted to make contacts at any 5 minutes of the day or night, and transmit electric current for ringing bells or making other signals." The weight baffle is replaced and the pend tie-down is new; otherwise very good original condition; orig tablet touched up in red area. Ht 32"
